Aston’s new V12 Vantage Roadster

Aston Martin has opened its order books for the new £150,000 V12 Vantage Roadster. The first models of the soft-top, which carries a £15,000 premium over the coupe version, will be delivered in the the second half of 2012. Powered by the same 510bhp 6.0-litre V12 as found in the coupe, the Roadster’s chassis has been revised. It will though still hit 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and go on to a top speed of 190mph.

Style tweaks include a more pronounced ‘flip’ on the boot lid to reduce rear lift and improve stability at high speeds. The V12’s diffuser houses a large, centre-mounted oil cooler and two large tail-pipe finishers.

New interior features include subtle additions like the use of glass switches in the lower centre stack. There’s also a new optional trim package which includes a carbon fibre facia and carbon fibre gearshift surround.
