Jaguar to build 4×4 XF and XJ

Jaguar is to fit four-wheel drive systems to its a new range XF and XJ models. But, considering the cars will be built at Jaguar’s Castle Bromwich, starting in October, none of the cars will come to the UK.

Despite the bad winters, allied to record levels of rainfall over the past few years, Jaguar says the cars definitely won’t come to the UK: at least, not in the 2013 model year.

Sadly, Jaguar’s business decision does make sense: less than 5% of luxury saloons sold in the UK are fitted with four-wheel drive.

So instead, the AWD Jags will head for North America, Russia, China and continental Europe. It’s believed three-quarters will be sold in the US.
