Amidst all the ‘Gold Medal Glory’ for British athletes at the Olympic Games in London, two-wheel tyre specialist Metzeler has launched a new scooter product.
The new Metzeler Feelgreen tyre has been fitted to the BMW electric C evolution scooter which is being used by some journalists as they move around the London venues.
The new scooter is fitted with the Metzeler Feelgreen in size 120/70 R15 on the front and 160/60 R15 on the rear. From 2014, it will be sold as exclusive original equipment on the BMW electric scooter, as well as in the replacement market.
The Feelgreen has been designed for quick warm-up and excellent handling, both characteristics the manufacturer says are indispensable for city riding.
Engineers have also reduced the weight of the tyre by 17% and the rolling resistance by more than 25% compared to Metzeler’s previous Feelfree tyre.
The company also detailed the fact the new tyre has been designed to decrease energy dissipation.
And a major safety initiative — especially in terms of the UK market where wet roads are often a problem — the Feelgreen has been designed with the longitudinal and transversal grooves positioned in such a way so as to guarantee maximum safety in the wet.
