Subaru WRX STI price slashed

Subaru has slashed the price of its WRX STI while, at the same time, introducing an upgrade which boosts the car’s power by a whopping 39bhp.

The list price for the blisteringly quick car has been reduced by £6000 to £26,995. And the WRX STI 340R upgrade will set you back an extra £1599.

What does your £1599 buy? How about 335bhp — a 39bhp increase to the 2.5-litre, four-cylinder boxer engine — which results in the car accelerating from standstill to 62mph in just 4.7secs. That’s half-a-second quicker than the standard WRX STI.

The 340R power upgrade features different ECU settings which allows the engine to produce more power: at the same time, a new exhaust system has improved airflow.

The all-wheel-drive 340R, as is the case with other WRX STI models, as a Torsen rear diff and fully independent front and rear suspension.
