New entry-level BMW 1-series

BMW will add a new entry-level model to its 1-series range. The new 114d — which will be powered by 94bhp, 1.6-litre version of BMW’s four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine — will enter production in November.

The 114d will cover the 0-62mph sprint in 12.2sec, accelerate on to a top speed of 115mph, and deliver 65.7mpg and 112g/km CO2 emissions.

The new model also gets EfficientDynamics equipment, including automatic start-stop function and regenerative bracken, as standard.

Though pricing has yet to be confirmed, the 114d will be available in both three- and five-door forms.
