Peugeot unveils 2008 concept

Peugeot has released teasers images of its all-new 2008 concept. Set to go head-to-head with the Nissan Juke, the 2008 will go into production later this year.

Scheduled to make its official debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month, the 2008 soft-roader is 4.14m long and 1.74m wide, making it slightly longer but narrower than the Juke.

Evolved from three earlier concepts, including the Urban Crossover from Beijing in April, the 2008 borrows the Peugeot 208 supermini’s front end and raked windscreen.

It does though get a beefed-up, more aggressive stance with flared arches and sculpted wings. The concept is powered by a 110bhp turbocharged 1.2-litre triple.

Aimed directly a young city dwellers, the new Peugeot will be built in France, China and Brazil.
