Peugeot has entered a purple phase with its new 208 XY. Focusing on ‘luxury and themed colours’, including deep purple, the Geneva 208 XY Concept car became a production reality earlier this year.
Now the new XY is a further derivative ahead of the eagerly-awaited GTi. There’s a choice of a 1.6-litre diesel e-HDi 92 FAP with a 5-speed manual gearbox and CO2 at 98g/km, up to a 1.6-litre petrol THP 156, with a 6-speed manual gearbox and CO2 at 135g/km.
Peugeot describes the 208 XY as ‘urban chic and exclusive’, and the new model comes in a choice of six colours. There’s also an eye-catching light signature featuring LED technology.
And while the 17in multi-spoke wheels house an alloy wheel cap with purple edging, the exterior also gets chromed details and touches of purple on the Peugeot logos.
Inside the cabin, Peugeot’s new ‘sophisticated ambiance’ can be personalised with a range of trims and standard kit includes a 7in touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system and foot mats overstitched in purple.
