Honda’s new CR-V will start at £21,395 for the entry-level 2.0 i-VTEC manual S grade 2WD when it goes on sale in UK showrooms later this month.
Built at Honda’s production plant in Swindon, the new CR-V’s prices will rise to £32,650 for the range-topping 2.2 i-DTEC EX auto with manual transmission.
Honda’s decision to introduce the 2WD model in Europe for the first time — alongside the 4WD version — allows the new CR-V to enter the market with a lower entry price, broadening the sales potential for this model.
Both the 2.0 i-VTEC and 2.2 i-DTEC engines emit significantly less CO2.
And cleverly, the Japanese manufacturer has also improved the specifications through the whole of the range, while keeping costs in line with the third generation CR-V.
The new CR-V will be available with four trim levels S, SE, SR and EX.
The entry-level S features five-inch Intelligent Multi Info Display (i-MID), driver power lumbar support, idle stop, dual zone climate control, cruise control, 17in alloys, fabric interior, hill start assist, steering wheel stereo controls, usb/iPod auxiliary input, one touch folding rear seats, plus a CD tuner and four speaker stereo, vehicle stability assist (VSA), anti-lock braking system (ABD), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), brake assist (BA), trailer stability assist (TSA) and central locking.
The next trim level is SE which includes all the equipment found in S but adds a leather steering wheel and gearshifter, rain sensing auto wipers, dusk sensing auto lights, auto dim rear view mirror, front and rear parking sensors, rear view parking camera, one-touch power windows (also key fob operated), electrically folding door mirrors, six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth hands free telephone, front fog lights, tweeters and a category one alarm
The next step up is the SR featuring half-leather and alcantara interior, heated front seats, ambient lighting for driver/passenger footwell and doors, premium audio, DAB radio, colour-coded roof rails, privacy glass, bi-HID lights with auto Levelling, dynamic cornering lights, high beam support system, headlight washers, 18in alloys, passenger power lumbar support and manual passenger seat height adjustment
The EX tops off the range with standard features such as smart entry, leather interior, power tailgate, electric driver seat with memory function, panoramic glass roof and integrated satellite navigation.
