As the cold, winter weather finally begins to lock the country into its grips, Renault has introduced a nifty new window system aimed at keeping occupants of its Twizy warm.
Renault says the new winter-proof accessory will ensure driver and passenger of the 100% electric vehicle stay snug.
The new device comes in two parts – a rigid metal frame which attaches to the door and a flexible, transparent ‘window’ which fastens to the frame by means of a zip.
It needs no tools to fit, can easily be removed by the owner and requires no bodywork modification to make the futuristic-looking urban compact suitable for the conditions this winter.
An opening in the window provides access to the door handle and enables the transparent panel to be opened or closed.
Two slits in the panel – one at the front and the other at the rear – ensure a sufficient flow of air to prevent the attention grabber’s interior from misting up.
As part of Renault’s ongoing attention to quality, the system has been extensively tested to ensure its resistance to UV light, corrosion and cold temperatures. Available from Renault’s UK network from the end of November, it’ll set you back a cool £295.
Twizy is the first-ever fully-electric urban compact two-seater, combining bold design and bright styling, while being incredibly fun and easy to drive.
Entirely zero-emission in road use, Twizy comes in a choice of three trim levels: Urban, Colour and Technic, with prices starting at £6690. Monthly battery hire starts from £45 (incl VAT).
