It has been announced that Bridgestone are set to launch their latest run flat technology tyres – the DriveGuard tyre – for aftermarket sale in Europe from 01/04/2016.
The Japanese tyre manufacturer has hailed the new DriveGuard tyre range as a game changer as it can be fitted on to all cars (equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system, or TPMS) – potentially appeasing any ongoing tyre damage concerns and at the same time delivering good performance in wet conditions, excellent ride comfort and impressive fuel efficiency.
What Makes It Different?
The new Bridgestone DriveGuard tyre utilises a cutting edge fin design with supported reinforced sidewalls. This helps to ensure that motorists are able to maintain in control of their vehicle safely in the event of a puncture for up to 50 miles.
Bridgestone DriveGuard is different from other run flat tyres in that it is not restricted specific brands or car models. The new range is capable of being fitted to any car with a modern TPMS – which sees Bridgestone taking strategic advantage of the fact that new cars in Europe have, since November 2014, been required by law to come equipped with TPMS.
Early indications from those who have tested the tyres so far have been promising for the new Bridgestone DriveGuard, with good feedback being noted on the tyre’s braking, ride comfort and noise.
